Merry Christmas

santa claus, merry christmas
I came back from Genting Highlands yesterday evening after 3 days 2 nights stay there. The mountain air was so refreshing that all the rooms do not need air conditioner. I will put up the photos taken there after Christmas. My second sister is back for surprise visit for 1 week from lecturing in Suchou in China. She will treat the whole family in Hokkaido Seafood Restaurant tonight. My youngest sister will treat us lunch tomorrow in Mitzy's Bistro in New World Park and finally my treat for Christmas dinner in Fishing Village in Teluk Bahang.

This is the season to give and to share. Christmas marks the birth of baby Jesus who came from heaven to redeem mankind from eternal damnation. He is our Saviour and Redeemer. Jesus' birth is a gift to mankind. That's why you see presents and gift-wraps by the brightly lit Christmas trees. Here is to wish all my readers and visitors a Very Blessed Christmas this year 2007.

Enchanted, the 2007 Movie

Enchanted the movie 2007
Last night, I watched this stunning movie in Queensbay Mall. It was one of the best movies I have seen in 2007 with love and romance and living happily ever after. Giselle (Amy Adams) lives in the blissful animated world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely, animals are talkative companions and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. She dreams of her true love and builds a statue wearing a blue jacket to represent him from her dream with the help of her chipmunk friend Pip and other forest animals. She sings about her true love's kiss, and Prince Edward (James Marsden), a handsome and valiant but dimwitted prince who hears her voice in the forest, rescues her from an ogre. Giselle and Edward get engaged, but her fate takes a turn for worse on her wedding day when his stepmother, the villainous Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon), throws her through a magic portal to a place where there is no happily ever after in order to keep her son single and thus remain queen.

Giselle meets divorcee Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey), who takes her into his apartment despite believing that she is a little crazy, and he is nervous for his daughter Morgan. Robert is a divorce lawyer who doesn't believe in Giselle's gushings of happily-ever-after and true love's first kiss. The next morning he becomes aggravated when he and his daughter find Giselle has rats and other vermin cleaning their apartment and that she has constructed a dress using material cut from the curtains. Nancy (Idina Menzel), Giselle starts to sob when she finds out that his client and her husband are getting a divorce, causing Robert's boss to angrily reprimand him. Robert takes Giselle, and they go outside the building to Central Park.

Meanwhile, Queen Narissa's henchman Nathaniel (Timothy Spall) goes after Edward and Pip, who have journeyed off to save Giselle. They stop at a motel, where Nathaniel sneaks out to give Giselle a poisoned apple, while Pip, unable to speak in this world, has a frustrating time alerting the Prince of the minion's intentions. Nathaniel tries twice to poison Giselle, only to be stopped by Pip, and Narissa becomes infuriated. Robert tells her he will help her because he doesn't believe Edward will show up. She yells at him, and becomes giddy when she finds out that she is experiencing anger for the first time. They both stare at each other for a moment and come close enough to kiss but Robert turns and bids her good night. Giselle falls into a chair, confused, realizing she is falling for him, and he does the same on his bed.

At the ball, Giselle begins to finally realize that Robert is her true love. Nancy and Edwards keep their eyes on the couple. Nancy decides to cut in and continue dancing with Robert. Giselle and Edward turn to return to Andalasia, and Giselle is visibly upset as they leave the ball. Edward leaves her by the elevators to get her coat.

Narissa appears as the old hag. Seeing Giselle become distressed when she watches Nancy kiss Robert on the dance floor, Narissa offers her an apple that she says will make Giselle forget the whole experience. She takes it and collapses on the floor. Edward returns, and Narissa claims Giselle fainted as Robert and Nancy run to Giselle's aid. A remorseful Nathaniel appears and admits the plot that she was poisoned, sadly, with his help. He restrains Narissa with Edward's sword. If the spell isn't broken in a minute (when it will be midnight), Giselle will die.

Remembering her belief in true love's first kiss, Robert tells Edward to kiss her, only to find it doesn't work. Edward turns to Robert and realizes that his kiss has failed because Robert is her true love. Robert immediately denies this, but Nancy says it's okay and tells him to kiss her before it's too late. He does, and Giselle wakes up. Narissa breaks free from Nathaniel, seizes Edward's sword from him and then transforms into a dragon as she impales the sword onto the dance floor. Narissa declares that she will have to kill them all. She plans to start with Giselle, but Robert intervenes and is promptly seized. Narissa climbs on top of the building with Robert in hand. Giselle grabs Edward's sword from the dance floor and follows, leaving a slipper behind.

Giselle chases the dragon to the point where, thanks to help from Pip, it falls off the Woolworth Building and dissolves into glitter on the pavement. Giselle catches Robert just in time as he falls, and they kiss on the roof. Meanwhile, Edward puts the slipper on Nancy's foot, and they go back to Andalasia and get married. Robert and Giselle open up Andalasia Fashions where they are assisted by both humans and animals.

In the meantime Nathanael becomes a successful author in the modern world writing a book entitled "My Royal Pain" and signing autographs. Similarly, Pip becomes a bestselling author in Andalasia, writing a book called "Silence Is Not Golden." The last scene shows Giselle and Robert with his daughter Morgan playing together and living happily ever after as a family in his apartment.

Back from a Fruitful Trip to KL

I was back yesterday but was too tired to blog. So, I just checked for emails. The recent trip to KL lasting 3 days 2 nights was very fruitful. We visited a few places and projects are waiting for us right up to early next year. We also got some orders from our 2008 calendars sent out. During the trip to KL, we also drove down to Tangkak in Johor for site visit. I need to also lose some weight as I have put on 2 kg extra due to the delicious buffet dinner in Ipoh's Casuarina Hotel.

7th International Dance Competition in Penang

Above is the waltz dancing during the 7th International Dance Competition in PISA on 25th November 2007. There were various categories of dancing such as cha cha cha, rhumba, samba, tango, quick step, waltz and paso doble. The costumes were opulent, dazzling with 'diamonds', silk and taffeta. The tickets cost RM15 each and I paid for 4 persons for myself and parents.

Here is the quick step dance which is much faster and livelier than waltz. If couples are too engrossed in dancing and don't look out, they can bump into another couple. There are more than 50 judges from various countries in this competition.

Bee Movie

bee movie
Just last week, I watched bee movie with my friend in Queensbay Mall. It was a movie most suitable for kids. The chrome yellow and black stripes of bees certainly attract attention. From creator Jerry Seinfeld come "Bee Movie," a comedy that will change everything you thought you knew about bees. Take a close look at the world through the eyes of one bee in particular - Barry B. Benson (Jerry Seinfeld). A recent college graduate, Barry wants more out of life than the inevitable career that awaits him and every other workers in New Hive City - a job at Honex... making honey. Barry jumps at the chance to venture out of the hive, and soon encounters a world beyond his wildest dreams. When Barry inadvertently meet a quirky florist named Vanessa (Renee Zellweger), he breaks one of the cardinal rules of beedom - he talks to her. A friendship soon develops, and Barry gets a guided crash course in the ways of the human race.

Funny Elephant Massage

Just watch the video above of a funny elephant massage on the lying man's private parts. The elephants are revered animals in Thailand and have been trained to paint trees and flowers, carry tourists on their backs, do a bicycle ride, play soccer, play basketball, bowling and almost just anything that humans can do. Here is a recorded video in Nong Nooch Tropical Garden from my trip to Pattaya recently.

Comfy Water Closet

The photo above looks very inviting with all the matching pink cloths. Wish I could furnish my new home with the matching materials from pink slippers to the bowl cover and toilet roll holder. It looks so inviting that you just wish you have a good novel and sit in this water closet and read for hours. In fact, my dad has put a fan in our water closet and reading is what some of us do mostly while sitting on the 'throne'.

Your Youth will be Renewed like the Eagles

All women are daughters of Sarah, wife of Abraham. When Sarah was 60 years old, Pharoah, King of Egypt wanted her to be in his harem. She was beautiful in her old age. And when Sarah reached 90 years of age, Abimelech, king of Gerar, wanted her in his harem as well. Sarah’s youth was literally renewed like the eagles. Even at the age of 90, a king wanted her and she had the strength and youth to conceive seed. God renewed Sarah’s youth and opened her womb to conceive Isaac at 91 years old. She was physically attractive and looked young in her golden years. Imagine, two kings wanted Sarah to be in their harems and she must have looked very attractive to them physically. This is not spiritual renewal that you cannot see but tangible and real. Thank goodness, all women are daughters of Sarah and we need to wait upon the Lord to renew our youth.

Eschatology and Missiology

You might be wondering what those two terms above mean. Well, Eschatology is defined as the study of events on earth that leads to the establishment of God's final kingdom. On the other hand, missiology is the study of strategies and initiatives that determines the final population of God's kingdom.

Hence, Eschatology + Missiology = Our Destiny.

Basically, a kingdom requires a king, a territory and subjects. What happens when you have a king, subjects but no territory? A refugee camp!

God established himself a kingdom through creation. Adam and Eve were the first man and woman God created. When Eve sinned, Adam suffered from temporary lapse of judgement. Afterall, it was Eve who asked Adam to taste the forbidden fruit and hence, it was woman who sinned. Interesting eh?

Garage Cabinets

When you have plenty of things around the house but not enough space, guess what? You store them in garage cabinets. They stack up like a pile of books to fully optimize the space available. Sometimes from the floor to almost reaching the ceiling. Garage cabinets help to keep the garage tide from all the unnecessary gadgets and stuffs from lying around that makes the place too messy. So, if you own a garage, why not get some garage cabinets for a more tidy environment?

Going to Port Dickson

Later this afternoon after lunch, I will be going down to KL and stay one night in Subang Jaya. The following morning, we will drive down to Negeri Sembilan to Port Dickson and visit a client for sports project. We were supposed to meet up earlier immediately after Hari Raya, but my colleague overlook this and forgot about it. So, we plan to meet up on Friday or Saturday for the job. Thank goodness, I have recovered from my fever two days ago. That time I was having a headache and body temperature rose to 38.6 degrees Celcius. Hopefully, I can buy back from fruits like pomelo this time around.

First Malaysian in Space

Last night I watch life on Astro channel 588, our very handsome doctor, Sheikh Muszaphar lift off into space on board the Russian Soyuz TMA-11 spacecraft at 9:21pm (Malaysian time). Rephrasing Neil Armstrong’s legendary words, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar said, “It’s a small step for me, but a great leap for the Malaysian people.” Hospital UKM’s Dr Sheikh Muszaphar will make history being the first Malaysian in space.

The TMA-11 aircraft carrying the 35-year-old doctor and his flight mates - Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and American Peggy Whitson - is scheduled to dock at ISS (International Space Station) at 10:51pm (local time) on Friday. Soyuz TMA-11 will take 2 days to reach the ISS - 360km above the Earth.

Dr Sheikh Muszaphar is to study the effects of microgravity and space radiation on cells and microbes, as well as experiment with proteins for a potential HIV vaccine. Malaysia is paying for the voyage as part of a billion-dollar purchase of Russian fighter jets. The rocket - adorn with a Malaysian flag and coat of arms and carrying the Soyuz TMA-11 spacecraft - was moved on Monday to the launch pad from its assembly site at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which Russia rents from Kazakhstan. Dr Sheikh is to return to Earth on Oct 21 with two Russian members of the current space station crew.

Another first for the Malaysian ‘angkasawan’ (astronaut), is that he will be hosting a Hari Raya party on board the space station on the first day of Syawal. He has taken satay and some ‘kuih’ Raya to treat the others on board. This is all so exciting. I bet Dr Sheikh will get his Datukship when he returns to Malaysia - our very handsome orthopaedic surgeon who’s also a model.

Fixed Deposits versus Unit Trusts

I am pondering should I put the bulk of money into the slow and steady FD (Fixed Deposits) or takes risks and invest in Unit Trusts which hopefully bring in more returns. Unit trusts are a group of shares managed by a fund manager. When you put your money into unit trusts, about 5% is already deducted from the principal for the fund managers. This is quite a huge amount but the proposed returns are supposed to be better. This is just a projected return. However, I feel much safer to put into FD for less but sure profit. FD return is around 3.7% a year which is not too bad. So between the two, to avoid less headache, I rather put into FD for a less but sure return.

Going to KL in a short while

I have been travelling so frequently. Later this morning, my colleague will come to fetch me for the trip to KL, to meet up with a client and maybe we might drive down to Johor for another meeting. I am not sure when I will be back but hopefully by the weekend I can be back to Penang. Now it seems that I travel about twice a month outstation mainly to KL. I guess I need to get used to this frequency of travelling at a short notice.

Blogspot's Upload Video Button

Blogger has just added a new feature on the dashboard. We can now upload videos to our blogs the same way we upload pictures. We no longer need to embed the codes from YouTube. Though I have not tried this yet, I think it is a nifty feature to use. Maybe one of these days, I might just upload my own videos of a stage performance taken in China that comes with the delicious Mongolian food buffet. Blogger only allows video uploads of not more than 100mb each time. Most formats are accepted. Have fun with your videos.

You will Reap what You Sow

Galatians 6:7-9 (New International Version)

7. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
8. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
9. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

If we plant papaya seeds, we will get papaya fruits. If we plant mango seeds, we will get mango fruits. Hence, we will sow what we planted. Same too with tithing. If we sow to the kingdom of God, we will reap spiritual and physical rewards. Rewards that people can see and may become envious of you wishing to know who your God is. He is the Al Shadai, Jehovah Jireh. The God that blesses and heals. My Provider. Galatians from the NIV version of verses 7 to 9 clearly states that we will reap what we sow and God is not mocked. We will reap a harvest if we do not give up. So continue to tithe or invest your time in doing church work for the glory of God.

Pastor Joseph Prince's message CDs

I am now in Kuala Lumpur. While my colleague was driving down to KL from Penang, we listened to Pastor Joseph Prince's message CDs in the car. It was so inspiring that it keeps him awake while driving the long 4-5 hours of journey. He has at least 50 CDs bought online from New Creation Church's online web site that sells message tapes, CDs, music CDs, DVDs, books and more. Pastor Joseph Prince is the most annointed preacher that I have heard in my life time. He's so annointed that he now pastors a church of 15,575 members and the number is exploding. He's also viewed by 62 million Americans on Day Star channel from Mondays to Fridays at 2:00pm and on prime time channel on Thursday at 9:00pm. That is how annointed his preaching is and you get fresh bread/manna straight from heaven.

Happy Merdeka!

Today is Malaysia's 50th anniversary of independance since British occupation in 1957. For the last 50 years, we have lived with some freedom to make money and live as a normal citizen. With the status quo, I hope we can achieve further prosperity with the different races living side by side to make Malaysia a successful nation.

And you can grab the nice Happy Merdeka banners from Enveluv.com. He has designed a few beautiful banners just for this special occasion and public holiday today. Most people have taken 3-4 days of continuous holidays outstation or stay in a local hotel like myself. Well, I just came back from Penang's City Bayview with the revolving restaurant. Last night, I saw beautiful fireworks displayed at the stroke of midnight to declare Merdaka Day.

It was during near autumn and the outdoor camp was an exhilarating experience with almost negative 4 degrees Celcius outside.

Inheritance

A wise man leaves an inheritance for his children's children. - Proverbs 13:22.

For parents with children, they should not think that leaving property or money for their kids is a waste where they should spend it on themselves. A pastor in another church even shared in his sermon that he won't leave any thing for his children. What lame excuse! Well then go read Proverbs 13:22 where it is clearly stated that a WISE man leaves an inheritance for his children's children. Two generations down the road. As parents you should not think that your kids will squander away your wealth. One parent lamented, "Why leave so much for the kids? Let them earn their own money!" This is the general opinion of most middle-class working parents.

Thank goodness, I have also seen some rich parents spending a huge chunk of their money to help their kids start up their own business. Instead of working outside for others, why not work for yourself and keep all the money? The best way to do this is to go into business venture and set up a company. I have seen 2 or 3 clients where the generous father pays to have futsal courts set up for their kids to run and manage. If your kids are poor, when you are old, who is going to take care of you? Think of it as a win-win basis when you leave some money for your kids to spend on as you age.

Proverbs 20

Lazy hands make you grow poor but diligent hands find food. There are many verses from the book of Proverbs reminding us to be diligent and not to be slothful. We ought to follow the way of the ant, gathering food in harvest time to store them up for winter. Likeway, make hay while the sun shines. Grab the opportunity when there is the chance. While we are able and healthy, we should work for as long as possible till the day we die.

On the other hand, idle minds tend to find fault with other people. While others can sleep whole day without working and wake up in time for food. Well, I don't have such a priviledge and don't intend to be a financial burden to my caregivers. Work is also a form of exercise and we ought to work hard each day.

In a Holiday Mood

I am still in a holiday mood after the 8-day guided tour to Beijing. That's why you still don't see my photos taken in China. There are at least 150 of them and I have downloaded to my computer. But just not in the mood to process them for the blogs. I feel like napping more to recover from the tiredness and much walking. My legs' muscles are not so painful now and slowly recovering. After so much enjoyment, I am still taking my time to rest and relax instead of going full speed at work prior to the trip. It is so nice to work at home, where you don't have to go for the mad rush to work, get caught in traffic jams and need to dress up and put on make-up.

Tiring Tour

For the recent trip to Beijing, China, there was plenty of walking to do. Most of the tour destinations like the Great Wall of China, Tiananman Square, Forbidden City require plenty of walking and viewing. I had to wake up around 6:30am from the morning call, and have breakfast at 7:00am and wait at the lobby by 7:30am. Then the bus will take us to places for the whole day until 9:00pm everyday. As I am still feeling tired from the 8-day trip, I shall only put the photos later when I have more time. Feel like going back to nap after my blogging here. Need to recover from the trip.

Hotel Reservations

For my recent trip to China just a few days ago, I stayed in Timbo Hotel in Beijing. It has two double beds and the room was very big and luxurious. In fact this is the biggest room I have seen other than suites that I have stayed in Singapore. And the price was reasonable. I also stayed in another hotel, a smaller one in Chende, the smallest city in China. If you love to travel like going for free and easy tours, you might be interested in Hotel Reservations where you can book your hotels online.

With countries ranging from United States to Europe, just select the destination city, the check in dates, check out dates and voila, you will see a list of the hotels for your selection after clicking on the Search button. The pictures correspond to the hotel for your online booking. As you click on the link called ‘More’, you will see more beautiful photos of the facilities and rooms for each hotel. You can also see the prices for the classic rooms and the deluxe rooms and depending on your budget, you can select one that you like. Area attractions are also described in each hotel with a whole list of needed information that you wish to know.

What’s more? You can book online and pay using your Visa, American Express or MasterCard using their safe and secure payment gateway. And you can be rest assured of having a confirmed room during the travel to the destination country. This is all so convenient and the hotel room can be book via the internet. You don’t have to pay for expensive calls to the foreign countries just to do your booking. And it is fast, easy and at the touch of a button. For myself, I will take note of the links above and bookmark them for my future trip to USA or Europe.

God's Guarantee for your Prosperity

I just received 8 CDs by Pastor Joseph Prince of New Creation Church in Singapore. And I listened to one of them entitled, "God's Guarantee for your Prosperity." The CD was insightful and the secret message of this topic lies in Psalms 1.

Psa 1:1 Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Psa 1:2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

In verse 1, it tells us not to seek the counsel of the ungodly or those who are not Christians. When we are sick, we need to see a Christian doctor or psychiatrist because they have the Holy Spirit in them to guide them. If you go to a non-Christian doctor, he may give you more fear and more worry than is necessary about the state of your health. And worrying can make you more sick due to the undue stress and pressure.

In verse 2, if you meditate on God's word day and night, and make it your delight to study God's word, you will prosper. In my own experience, after listening to Pastor Prince's CDs, I feel more refreshed and happy. There is an inner peace and joy just by listening to him preach. For your information, Pastor Prince's sermons are now aired daily live in USA in a certain channel. Those people residing in America who have heard him preach were very blessed to hear right preaching on God's grace and favor. And they send testimonies after testimonies.

In verse 3 of Psalms chapter 1, it says he shall be like trees......and we know trees live long. So by meditating on God's word every day, you will also experience good health besides prosperity. You will have good success. And whatsoever you do, even your mistakes, will make you prosper.

Remove 'I'

The middle letter of 'SIN' is 'I'. The middle letter of 'PRIDE' is 'I' and the middle letter of 'LUCIFER' is 'I'. As you know, Lucifer was one of the 3 arch angels who rebelled against god and now became satan. We need to removed our Pride and ego. Just remove the 'I' to become ground zero, or 'O' and 'SIN' becomes 'SON'. Jesus was the son of God and came to remove sin in our lives. He forego the pleasures of heaven to be born into a man on earth, died and was crucified so that the world can be saved. He did not have the 'I' or 'me' and 'myself' attitude and was humble and obedient to the point of death on the cross. So folks, including myself, we need to remove the 'I' attitude and forget about our pride and egos to serve others and to serve God.

The Clever Greek

Below is a funny story that I received in my email from a Malaysian friend working in Brazil currently. Just read the following. It will tickle your toes.

An old Greek man lived alone in Marrickville. He wanted to dig his
tomato garden, but it was hard work for his advanced years as the
ground was very hard.

His only son, Spiro, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man
wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament.

Dear Spiro,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't be able to plant
my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a
garden plot. If you were here my troubles would be over.
I know you would dig the plot for me.
Love Papa

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Papa,
Don't dig up the garden. That's where I buried the bodies.
Love Spiro

At 4 A.M. the next morning, Federal agents and NSW Police arrived and
dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to
the old man and left.
That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Papa,
Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I could do under
the circumstances.
Love Spiro

Maths Tutors

I had 2 math tutors in the whole of my secondary school days. The first one was for lower secondary from Forms 1 to 3 who became my dad’s god son and was baptized in the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. The second one was for Forms 4 to 5. I liked the first maths tutor as he was very patient and do not mind tutoring me even after class if I have further questions. And this helped me score 100 full marks in one of the Maths test and I was the only student in my class who got full marks at that time. My Maths tutor was such a blessing.

Cell Group

Last Friday, I attended my cell group for the second time. It was in the same home in Minden Heights of the deacon of our church. There were 6 of us that Friday, the deacon and his wife, a teacher, an engineer in Dell, myself and my friend. It was like a close knit family where each one shared about personal or even relatives' sickness and work. The close camaraderie was there. There was a couple who could not make it as they were hiking in Tibet in Nipal. The team leader, the deacon played the guitar while we sang songs of praises to God. After a brief introduction and sharing, we plan to study on the book, Experiencing God which was started in 2002. As my mom has done it, and all the answers written there, I don't have to do much homework. Haha. Thereafter we had cheese cake and cream puffs before we left at about 10:30pm

More Grace

Today my senior pastor expounded on living with grace. We need to be gracious to the people around us especially our families. Is the home a war zone? Do family members fight and ridicule each other? I have seen it happened before even in my own home. But things have improved a lot since I am earning a good income and no longer feel inferior to my siblings.

When I was not working for about 1 and a half years and resting from the stress of living and working in Singapore, my parents favored my more successful sisters and treated me like a black sheep. Ever since my earnings are on par with them or even more, I am now treated with more respect and feel part of the family. Seems like money talks louder regardless of blood ties. Sometimes, I feel that I come from a dysfunctional family where money talks the loudest. Anyway, these are the facts of life and thank goodness, by God's grace, I survived this turbulent period. I still continue to earn good income part time from blogging and full time in my home office.

Psalms 1:1-3

Psalms chapter 1, verses 1 to 3 states below from NIV.

1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

This is my reading every morning that I have even memorized them. As we meditate on God's word day and night, whatever we do will prosper. God's words contains jewels of wisdom and insights. We cannot neglect reading the Bible or miss spending quiet time with Him. As for me, the first thing I do in the morning when I wake up is to recall on these favorite verses and read a chapter of Proverbs to correspond the date each day. There are 31 chapters for 31 days.

So, I am hoping that by meditating on God's words, whatever I do will prosper. Isn't this great? It does not say one thing I do that will prosper. But it clearly states "Whatever" I do will prosper. And it is happening now in my life. From my home-office work to blogging, I am prospering daily and monthly. And all these are possible by the grace of God.

Pride Goes Before a Fall

Pride and ego are the main reasons for many people's downfall in life. In the process of making money, their heads got too big and ego the better of them, that both these are the cause of downfall of many great men. It is no point argueing who's right or wrong or who knows better.

There are many humble but less knowledgeble people who can continue to work and earn income because they know how to keep their pride and ego in check. They are team players and not prima donnas. So to ensure job success, be a team player and you will go far in life. If you want to be a prima donna, then it is better to open your own business and not work for anyone else. Of course, I deliver results, regardless of what time I work.

It is Not How much you know, but WHO you know

I need to remind myself of this phrase constantly as well. To succeed in life, it is not How much you know, but WHO you know. You need to be more gracious and polite to people that come across your path, for you never know, some day, you may need his or her help. It does not pay to let pride and ego get in the way and in the end, you find youself as the biggest loser. People cannot exist alone. We all need each other.

On the other hand, if you find some people are obnoxious, downright rude and poisonous, then it pays to avoid that person at all costs. Ignore him or her completely and don't let that person influence you. But if you keep making enemies out of people who can help you out, then something is desperately wrong with your upbringing. Either you were disowned by your parents and lack parental love and care or you simply have the heck care attitude.

It is not a matter of who's right and who's wrong. Neither is it who knows more. Humility is the key and if you make mistakes, which I do sometimes, then it is advisable to admit your mistake, apologize and move on. Many marriages broke down because either party refuse to say, "I'm sorry." This is the magic phrase. There was a show made in Hollywood that states, "Getting married means never having to say you are sorry." How many marriages have broken down because of this stupid show. So folk, even if you are not in the wrong, but to retain the goodwill, it is advisable to use the magic words and be humble. You will go far in life if you keep your pride and ego in check.

Cell Group

Last night, my friend, his non-Christian ex-classmate in Belfast, UK and myself went to a cell group meeting in a deacon's beautiful bungalow. It was supposed to be a cell group on Friday, but apparently they have decided to take a break for the week and in the end, there were only 4 of us discussing and having fellowship. It was a cozy atmosphere as there were not too many people, 3 men and myself. I did not share too much, as they did most of the talking and my friend was hoping his non-Christian classmate will become a Christian one day.

The host, a deacon in our church, in his beautiful bungalow in Minden Heights tried to show us The Pineapple Story, a video tape on the pineapple plot and this missionary staying in Irian Jaya trying to reach out to the villagers there on his own. The villagers are born thieves and keep stealing anything in his home and the pineapples. No matter what he did, even to the point of hiring them to plant pineapples, the villagers will continue stealing the pineapples from this missionary.

To cut the long story short, it was when the missionary decided to surrender and give the pineapple plot to God that the thieves stopped stealing the pineapples. This was because when the pineapples were stolen, the thives experienced sickness, disease and other mishaps that they have stopped stealing the pineapples altogether. Not only that, the whole village got converted to Christianity.

Proverbs 6:6-11

Taken from NIV or New International Version, Proverbs chapter 6 verses 6 through 11 states below:

6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!

7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,

8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
When will you get up from your sleep?

10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest-

11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit
and scarcity like an armed man. [a]

We are reminded to be diligent in anything that we do and put our hearts and minds to it. Even in work, we ought to work hard and not be slothful and lazy. I have seen some blogger stated that they are lazy to do certain things and this should not be their mindsets. From my observation, certain race here seems to take life very easy and lazyness seems to become of them and they bemoan their poverty and underpriviledged status. It is obvious that if you refuse to work, then don't expect the government to give free handouts every time and to salvage your poverty state of mind and body. IF someone is handicapped and you keep feeding him without him trying to better himself in society, then you have to keep feeding him for the rest of his life. If only they can see what is the root cause of their poverty, then they should not blame other races like the Chinese for their wealth. The Chinese, by nature, are diligent, hard working and tend to be wealthier naturally. So buck up and stop complaining.

Proverbs 29:3

Proverbs chapter 29 verse 3 from the New International Version (NIV) states the following:

A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,
but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.

Whatever you are seeking after, it is good to seek wisdom. Without wisdom, no matter how rich you are, you will not get true blessings because you may spend and squander your money on harlots and prostitutes. Instead of being closer to your wife and family, you see your marriage breaking up and this is bad success. Money will buy you happiness but not true happiness if you do not have wisdom. Family relationships are far more important than having a short fling with a company of harlots. So no matter what, go for wisdom to direct your paths to successful living and prosperity.

Pentecostal Sunday

Yesterday was Pentecostal Sunday. The word comes from the Greek which means fifty. So, Pentecost was a celebration on the fiftieth day after Passover. It was a culmination of the feast of weeks (Exodus 34:22,23). Pentecost in the NT is the arrival of the Holy Spirit for the church (Acts 2). At Pentecost the disciples of Jesus were gathered and upon the filling of the Holy Spirit, they heard a great wind and spoke in tongues as tongues of fire that settled upon them.

There are two basic things which characterize Pentecostal churches and differentiate them from other Protestant groups: the first is the belief in a "Baptism of the Spirit" and the second is a belief in resultant charismata ("Gifts of the Spirit," like speaking in tongues).

So effectively, during Pentecostal Sunday, people have the gift of speaking in tongues, an unknown language and the most powerful prayer to God Almighty. When you speak in tongues, it is the language of the Holy Spirit and you may be praying for things to happen or to prevent future danger that you may not be aware of. With this unknown tongues, the devil cannot wire trap you compared to praying in English that people may understand.

Passwover is the most important feast of the Jewish calendar, celebrated at the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox. The name "Passover" was derived from the actions of the angel of death as described in the book of Exodus. The angel "passed over" the homes of the Jews which were marked with the blood obtained from a ritual animal sacrifice. The same angel murdered the first-born son and first-born animals of every Egyptian family whose doorway was not so marked.

Now we have the blood of Jesus, son of God which is much better than the blood of sacrifices bulls and goats. In the Old Testament, those houses without the blood of a sacrificed animal on their doorpost will be visited by the Angle of Death who will murder the first-born son and first-born animals. If the blood of an animal is able to protect us from death, definitely the blood of Jesus can do much more. It can protect us from the traps and harms of the devil. Therefore, it is a good practise to say aloud Psalms 91 every morning when you wake up for protection of the day and at night for protection when you sleep.

This explains why some Christians are befalled with misfortunes and accidents or death even though they are serving God. We are in a war fare, and satan knows his time is limited. So, he goes all out to cause havoc and destruction to as many of innocent people as possible.

Proverbs 23:4

Proverbs chapter 23 verse 4 states, "Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint." This verse apply especially for women and myself too. We tend to spend hundreds of dollars on cosmetics, costume jewellery, make-up, clothes and shoes to look pretty. This verse is a poignant reminder not to overdress to attract so much attention or wear yourself out to look rich.

As long as we are decently dressed without all the loud colors to look rich, then it should be fine. Our dressing reflects our personality. On the other hand, don't dress too dowdy with black, grey and other insipid colors that look boring and dull. Strike a balance in our dressing and it is better not to put too much chunky costume jewellery that attracts the wrong attention. From experience, when I dress decently and not too gaudy, there is less problem from the strangers or people that I deal with. At least try to blend in with the crowd. That's the best advise I can give to any woman so that she doesn't splurge all her savings just to look good and rich but with shallow wallets or empty pockets.

Granny Died Peacefully on May 16, 2007

My paternal nonagenarian granny died peacefully on 16th May 2007, a Wednesday while having dinner. As requested, we did a private and small funeral for her where only her children and both my sister and I attended her funeral the following day, before the coffin with granny's body was sent to the crematorium. It was all over the following day that she passed away. The funeral expenses cost about RM3,000 and granny has her savings of about RM4,000. So in effect, she paid for her own funeral. I pray that now granny will rest in peace in a better world where there is no suffering and sickness or weakness. Granny died of old age, healthy to the last minute where she became weaker and weaker until she had to be spoon-fed and her adult pampers changed frequently.

Granny left a legacy to all her kids and children's children. We are all honest working people who work hard like granny did. My beloved granny was widowed young at her late twenties or early thirties and she single-handedly brought up 4 kids by selling laksa, fish-soup salad everyday. Due to the harsh environment, granny was naturally strict with all of us. I was her favorite grandchild and she took care of me while my parents went to work to put bread and butter on the table. Even at the age of 60+, granny still cycled to Jelutong market nearby to buy fish and vegetables to cook dishes for the family. She was a good cook and after dinner, she will water the plants in the garden.

I would like to use my blog and pay tribute to this amazing woman who lived for her children and grandchildren. I have never seen another woman who is more diligent than granny herself who toiled from early in the morning till late at night. Even lying on the bed, granny will still tell me stories of how she had faced difficulty bringing up her 4 children and make sure they have proper education up to Form 5. I must say that my dad was the most successful of all her children and is her favorite filial son who faithfully visited granny in the old folks' home. Dad paid for granny's monthly expenses amounting to RM450 and then RM600 since the beginning of 2007 when granny needed more nursing help. I love you, Granny. May Eternal Rest and Peace be upon your Soul in the life after death.

Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers

Mother’s day

Today is Mother's day and I would like to wish all mothers a Happy Mother's Day. I will be treating my family on this day at Maple Gold. It was fully booked but since my mum knows the captain, she has allocated a table of 5 for us. The dishes are sharks' fin soup with extra crab meat, brocolli with scallops, butter nestum prawns, 'choong piah', stream pomfret and free fruits.

I got a cute clay picture frame from my church today though I did not stand up when the pastor announced that all mothers are to stand up to receive prayer and a gift. In fact, 2 kids came up to me to give me the gifts but I had to decline the second one as I has already received my 'mother's day' souvenir. You see, I don't want to appear too greedy taking double portions, though the temptation was there.

Proverbs 11:25

In the New International version of Chapter 11, verse 25 of Proberbs, it says "A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." If you are kind hearted and generous to the poor, God will bless you and refresh you. So don't look down on the poor for they are also God's creation. Have mercy and compassion for the poor and help them if you can afford.

But at the same time be wise in your givings because there are many paid beggars or con artists from third world countries like Indonesia and Burma begging here on the streets and taking advantage of the public's generosity. Not that they cannot work or are handicapped but they refuse to lift their hands to work other than find the easy way out through begging.

Use a Screen Filter

This is a reminder for those of you who work by the computer not to look for long hours at the screen without taking a break and using screen filter for your eyes' protection. Recently I have been a victim of this myself. Now that I have switched to a 17-inch SyncMaster LCD, I have neglected to use the 15 inch screen filter as it will partially block my viewpoint. Now my eyes are hurting and I could feel the strain at the back of the nerves of my eyes. I guess this is a poignant reminder that no amount of opportunities or money can replace your vision. So I better than good care and start using screen filter even though it is smaller and reduce the glare of the computer.

Have Dominion in the Marketplace

Today's sermon by another pastor in our church was particularly contemplative. He preached on having dominion in the marketplace such as in the office, at home, at work or just about anywhere besides the church. If you are a businessman, you need to sheppard your flock to know Jesus Christ. If you are a homemaker, you need to lead your family to the Lord.

At work in the office whether you are a high ranking CEO or just a low level clerk or secretary, you need to make an impact to the environment in your work place. To know Jesus is the greatest gift you can do to yourself and to others. When they are in heaven, then they can say “Thank you very much for preaching Jesus Christ to me, we are where we are now because you cared to share the Good News to us.”

If you are a retiree, then you can also make an impact to your line dancing groups, your social groups and others. There is not point if you gain the whole world, but lose your soul in hell. Now is the end time and we need to urgently preach the Good News and Jesus to everyone that comes across our paths. I am still praying for my aged granny and unsaved relative to come to know Jesus and to accept Him into their lives. Have dominion to your surroundings and the people that you love by being ambassadors for Christ.

Delight thyself in the Lord

Psalm 37 verse 4 states, "Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." If we will just spend some time on meditating on His word, the Bible and pray and draw closer to him, then God Himself will give us the desires of our heart. What is your heart's desire for today? Make more money? Be surrounded by loved ones? You can also pray in tongues for a more effective prayer. Afterall, the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16).

Going to Langkawi in a Short While

My colleague just called and I will go to Langkawi at about 3:00pm this evening. This is a business trip and I should be back the next day. I have been to this sleepy group of islands numerous times and feel very relaxed with much greenery and slower pace of life here in the mostly village type of lifestyle. The happening place is Kuah where the Langkawi's government complex, LADA, shopping lots, food outlets and more are situated here.

Just Came Back from Kuala Lumpur

I just arrived home in Penang an hour ago after taking a short nap. There are a few quotations to be done and I hope I can get them completed by today. It seems that there are new enquiries almost every day and here I am busy replying them. Some of them have turned out to be our customers while others are just curious enquiry to check pricing. I am getting used to travelling and shuttling between Penang and KL and back again.

Going down to KL this evening and then to Pahang

I shall be travelling more frequently now as my company business will be concentrated more in Kuala Lumpur. We have already rented a condo for business purposes and need to furnish it with a computer, printer, fax, etc. This way, whenever we travel from Penang, there will be a savings cost instead of staying in a hotel. Let’s say the hotel stay is RM250 per night. If there are many trips down per month, say 10 days of stay, then it would cost RM2,500 but our rental is RM800 for whole month. Plus a bit of spending on furniture, etc, it will save the company money in the long run. So this evening, I will be away for a business trip to KL and then to Pahang.

You are Crowned with Glory and Honor

Psalms 8 verse 5 - For Thou hast in Christ mercifully restored man to his primitive estate, wherein he was but one remove below the angels; from which he was fallen by sin. Crowned - Man, fallen and lost man: who is actually restored to glory and dominion in Christ his head and representative, who received this crown and dominion for man's good, and in his stead; which he will in due time communicate to his members. And so the two expositions of this place concerning mankind and concerning Christ, may be reconciled. For he speaks of that honourable estate conferred first upon Christ, and then by his hands upon mankind. But the words more literally rendered are, Thou madest him a little less than God. And hence some have inferred, that man in his original state was the highest of all creatures.

Some people fluctuate from superiority complex to inferiority complex because they do not know who they are in Christ. Folks, as a Christian, you are crowned with Glory and Honor after Jesus's resurrection. So don't take yourself lightly and feel itimidated by other people's comments about you. It is not what others think, but what the Lord thinks about you; that He willingly died on the cross on your behalf.

Blessed Easter to All

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my readers a Blessed Easter. It is not about bunnies and colorful easter eggs, but all about Jesus. In fact Easter Sunday is equally important or more important than Christmas but it seems to be more subdued. Watch the YouTube video below to see the true meaning of Easter, Jesus's resurrection that saves the whole of mankind.

Proverbs 27

Here's my reading this morning for Proverbs 27.

Proverbs 27

1. Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.
2. Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

Verse 1 is poignant today...telling us not to show off or boast about tomorrow and the things that you have; for you never know what will happen next. There was this news that a particular foolish woman exclaimed so loud when she won the lottery that people around her heard it. The next thing that happened was that she was robbed of all her money... most probably from someone who heard her foolish exclamation. The moral of the story is if you have wealth, don't flaunt it and shut up!

Prayer and Praise Releases Endorphines

Endorphines are the feel good hormones that are released after you have exercised or laughed. It is known that morphines also has endorphines but the more you consume morphines, the more addicted you become to the drugs and it has bad side effects. However, it has been scientifically shown that praying and praising God our Heavenly Father also releases endorphines and that is why you feel happy afterwards. In the Readers' Digest, it was stated that people who attended church regularly, lived longer by 7 years than their non-church attending counterparts. So, this explains why attending a good church with annointed preaching like Pastor Joseph Prince's New Creation Church in Singapore will make you feel happy, contented and prosperous. Hence, choose a good church that you feel comfortable with.

Proverbs 11:29

This verse of Proverbs 11:29 strikes me today as I read the chapter.
It says, "He who troubles his household will inherit wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise. "

There are some household that are full of disharmony and discord that even the neighbors listen and know every single dirty linen washed in public. This ought not to be. The more the foolish family wash their dirty linen in public, the more stupid they appear to their neighbors. Each household member should be united and siblings should not be fighting with each other or cahoot/collude with one another against the other. Only foolish parents bring up such kids and the home seems to be the battle ground. Some families are so utterly dysfunctional, that it is best to shift out and live elsewhere where there is more peace and quiet in the home. A home ought to be a santuary from the stresses of work, and life in general and not a World War 3 taking place!

Proverbs Chapter 6

Today is my reading this morning for Proverbs Chapter 6 by King Solomon.

6. Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.
7. Without having any chief, officer or ruler,
8. she prepares her food in summer, and gathers her sustenance in harvest.
9. How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?
10. A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest,
11. and poverty will come upon you like a vagabond, and want like an armed man.

The Bible teaches us to be diligent and not to be slothful and slumbering all the time. Otherwise poverty will come to us. God has mandated work and job even before Adam fell. As for me, as long as I live, I will intend to work while I am still able with my utmost capabilities.

I have a classmate who got the perfect score of 10 A1s in SPM exam or equivalent to O Levels. She managed to get a science degree from the National University of Singapore, but apparently due to some mental illness, she did not pass or graduate to become a teacher. And she keeps harping on past success but her present life is a failure. She could not hold on to a job and each time I contacted her in Johor, she is slumbering away almost the whole day and gaining weight. And she refuse to pick up my call. I have decided not to call or bother her anymore as she is beyond hope and help.

Missed Pastor's Prince Life Service

This morning, I planned to attend our usual church for the Sunday service. But my friend could not wake up and was too tired driving up to Batu Feringghi with so much traffic jams that it was literally crawling and it took us 1 hour from around the junction of Sunrise Tower right up to our beach appartment in Batu Feringghi pass Tanjung Tokong. If it had been for attending Pastor Joseph Prince's church, I guess no matter what the obstacles are, we will still try to make it to attend his very very very annointed preaching where dozens of souls are saved each week and sometime if the word of faith goes around, people get healed just listening and attending the service. I certainly missed Ps. Joseph Prince's life service in Singapore.

Proverbs 27

Here are some verses taken from RSV of chapter 27 of the book of Proverbs:

12. A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.
17. Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

Verse 17 is particularly interesting. As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. So, choose your friends carefully as a motivated, full of energy, diligent attitude of a friend is likely to rub off on you and the same goes for a slothful person who spends money like there is no tomorrow enjoying himself and refusing to work. The opposite negative effects can also influence you to his bad lifestyle if he's your friend. Also, don't let anyone pigeonhole you, and you are created for great things in life, for success and prosperity.

The Tongue has the Power of Life and Death

Proverbs 18:21 says, "Life and death are in the power of the tongue." A singer by the name of Patsy Klein sang the song, "I drop to pieces"....and she died in a plane crash. A few years later, another singer named Jim Reeves, sang the same song and he also died in a plane crash. Mrs Steve Ervin, the wife of the famous Crocodile Hunter star says that Steve kept saying he will die young. So folks, don't let the devil wiretrap you to keep saying things like "mati ar", or "Die, die." Even in American culture, instead of saying "I am dying to eat that piece of cake", why not say "I am living to eat that piece of cake." Is it as if in dying you can eat that piece for cake? Wake up folks. Use life giving words of power and grace and be careful of what you say.

Even God has to speak it out to see good. He said "Light be" and there was light. He also said, "Let there be birds of the air." And it was so and God saw it was good. God spoke it out before it happen and God saw it was good. Likewise, we were created in the image of God and we have the power of life and death, and that is in our tongue. It is like a small rudder of the ship. Use it aright and you have smooth sailing; use it awrong and you have ship wrecked. So use your tongue wisely and avoid death words!

Romans 12:14-21

Romans chapter 12, verses 14 - 21 states below:

14. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
15. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
16. Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; never be conceited.
17. Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.
18. If possible, so far as it depends upon you, live peaceably with all.
19. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
20. No, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head."
21. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

This is my reading daily from Romans to turn your enemies into friends if possible. God has my interest at heart, and if I just obey and humbly listen, I don't have to carry the poison anymore and let peace dwell in my heart. It is better to forgive and forget than to carry the hurt in the past. As you cannot change the past, why carry the burden in your heart and make it into poison that fester in your body? Many sickness and diseases are due to stress and unforgiveness that the person carries. The people who live the longest have this profile: they are the most forgiving, carefree and worry free. As a result, they live long happy fulfilled lives.

How to Be Happy

Proverbs 16:20 tells us, "Whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he." And Psalms 146:5 indicates that happiness comes to those who find their help and hope in God. It says "Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help." The foundation for happiness is a proper relationship with the Lord. But to fully experience that happiness, we must build on that foundation in a practical way. Here are the 10 Rules for Happier Living:

  • 1. Give something away.

  • 2. Do a kindness.

  • 3. Give thanks always.

  • 4. Work with vim and vigor.

  • 5. Visit the elderly and learn from their experience.

  • 6. Look intently into the face of a baby and marvel.

  • 7. Laugh often - it's life lubricant.

  • 8. Pray to know God's way.

  • 9. Plan as though you will live forever - you will.

  • 10. Live as though today is your last day on earth.
  • - Richard De Haan

Happiness is to know the Saviour,
Living a life within His favor,
Having a change in my behaviour,
Happiness is the Lord. - Stanphill

    Proverbs Chapter 7

Here is my reading this morning from RSV:

    10. And lo, a woman meets him, dressed as a harlot, wily of heart.
    11. She is loud and wayward, her feet do not stay at home;
    12. now in the street, now in the market, and at every corner she lies in wait.
    13. She seizes him and kisses him, and with impudent face she says to him:
    14. "I had to offer sacrifices, and today I have paid my vows;
    15. so now I have come out to meet you, to seek you eagerly, and I have found you. 16. I have decked my couch with coverings, colored spreads of Egyptian linen;
    17. I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
    18. Come, let us take our fill of love till morning; let us delight ourselves with love.
    19. For my husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey;
    20. he took a bag of money with him; at full moon he will come home."
    21. With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him.
    22. All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast
    23. till an arrow pierces its entrails; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.
    24. And now, O sons, listen to me, and be attentive to the words of my mouth.
    25. Let not your heart turn aside to her ways, do not stray into her paths;
    26. for many a victim has she laid low; yea, all her slain are a mighty host.
    27. Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

This whole chapter is about avoiding harlots and prostitutes. Therefore, let your wife satisfy you and not other women. Not only do you cheat on your spouse if you visit a brothel but you also lose money and integrity in the process. So, young men, control your raging hormones and don't waste a penny on hookers.

    Today's sermon

Here are some brief verses from today's sermons by an American pastor that I have jotted down. Basically it speaks to the broken hearted and to the contrite.

Psalms 34:18 - The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. (Revised Standard Version)

Isaiah 57:15 - For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. (RSV)

Psalms 51:17 - The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. (RSV)

So there you have 3 verses, I am sure there are more, of God speaking to the contrite in heart. So where you have been hurt, remember to look to the Lord for He is close to such low spirited people. And where sin abounds, GRACE much more abounds. Remember that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. If you have a loved one who just passed away, remember that God is also with the departed and as well as the living. If we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. So we need to spend some quiet time alone with God Almighty and set aside some time each day if possible. Don't let the business and pressures of daily living crowd out God in your lives. Peace be to you, my friends.

Successfully Installed a New Groovy Theme from Ms Zoot

Credits go to Ms Zoot with detailed instructions on installing the new theme. Also, some help here from Ms Zoot as below which was not stated in the instructions above.
If you are using the new blogger beta, you have to switch to "classic templates" in the new blogger since those were designed for old blogger.

Do note that from experience, make sure you get the url to the header.jpg and footer.jpg correct the first time round using photobucket.com, otherwise you will have difficulty to trace the link of urls the second time and may need to pay I guess. In my opinion, PhotoBucket.com is a little slower compared to Flicker.com by Yahoo!
