Going to Europe Tonight

Tonight, the plane will depart to KLIA from Penang at 9:45pm before the long haul direct flight to Heathrow Airport in London, arriving tomorrow morning. I will spend about 11 hours on board the flight and spend Christmas during winter in Vatican City, Rome, Italy. I have sponsored my 2 younger sisters for this long-awaited trip to Europe since 2007. I shall be visiting 7 countries - United Kingdom, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and France. Just pray that my big luggage with food and clothing will arrive safely and not pilfered at the airport by coveting staff. Also pray that I will eventually return to Penang safely with all my items intact. This trip easily costs me $20k for the 3 of us, not including extra expenses for food and tips, souvenirs, etc.

Stayed in Genting Highlands

I was in Genting Highlands last week on Friday and stayed at First World Hotel. Also saw Fantastica 2 show with a humorous ballet performance after set dinner of abalone, shark's fin soup, etc at Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant on the first floor. Had a good time enjoying the fresh mountain air and I specially requested for mountain view. We stayed on the 27th floor of Tower 2. So far, I have been to Genting Highlands 21 times and stayed at all the 5 hotels there including Awana Genting on the lower side of the mountain slopes. Now it is time to prepare to send out 100 calendars to our clients and potential clients.

Going to KL tomorrow

Tomorrow, I shall be going to KL for business in the evening, and arriving probably past midnight. This is the best time to travel after sunset, without all the sweltering heat of the afternoon sun. I have accepted that is my vocation to travel almost every week as part of my job nature. But I am not complaining! This is most suitable for singles like yours truly without any family commitments at home. I have good relations with my colleague and boss and we work hand-in-glove

Came back from KL

I just came back from Kuala Lumpur last night after spending 2 days there for business. For the record, I just paid the first instalment to Trafford for my book to be published sometime between January and February next year where I will be given 10 complimentary copies. Trafford is a print on demand service and they don’t print your books to be stocked up in bookshelves of the stores. My book will be listed on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Today is a weekend, I would love to slumber for long hours under my pure silk duvet. Life is good and abundant for everyone. Too tired to go to Langkawi, so we decided to skip this trip and stay at home lazing around.

Went to Melaka

Melaka is almost like a mini Singapore - well planned, plenty of greenness and shrubs, clean and newly developed. We went to a club yesterday for an interview. It took about 2.5 hours to reach there from KL, where we set out at 7:00am in the morning. Hopefully, we can get the project and this will be constant work for our Bangladeshi workers. They have gone home and come back to work with us and they know that they cannot get such good benefits elsewhere. There is also personal freedom and full pay even though it rains and no work is done.

The poor cannot help the poor

The church wants people to go into missionary work, but they never emphasize on the working group to contribute to its coffers. The poor cannot help the poor. It is commonsense that only the rich can help the poor. Which is why we need to work hard to earn more so that we can help people in our lives and to donate some to church. Today I had Indian food served on banana leaves and ginger tea. It was very affordable with air con comfort after church service.

Down with Influenza

I have seen the doctor twice as of yesterday and hope that my flu will heal quickly. This time round, I asked for Benadryl, a cough mixture that makes one drowsy to rest and recover quicker. Had a quick lunch at New World Park since the other places were full and I could not find a car park. Also bought Long Johns for the coming winter trip to Europe this December 2013. I just hope that the trip will be enjoyable with less bickering with my sisters. It is not easy when one does not have a choice with traveling partners but to accept those who can go with valid passports.

Got Paid Today

I got paid USD 60 for an article on my website which has high authority. Added about 6 links for the article and promptly got paid upon completion. This type of work is easy peasy and does not require a rocket scientist. But the fact that the website has high authority, speaks volumes of effectiveness of the linking. Opportunities like this come once in a blue moon and now I have more allowances for Christmas. I thank God for my education and the skills needed to work in a home office effectively and getting benefits like EPF and SOCSO contribution by the company. Making a living online is possible, but is not catered for everyone.

Back from KL

I came back from KL 2 days ago, having spent a day in Johor Bahru and some shopping for winter clothes in Johor Premium Outlets. Spent more than $500 there for a single day of shopping before driving back to Senai Airport. JPO is on the way to the airport in Kulaijaya. This is one of the best shopping deals I got and there are no regrets. Today is Monday and I subscribed to Hell in a Cell pay per view on Astro for WWE. Just blog here for a short while before resuming my viewing of Hell in a Cell with John Cena back from surgery.

Going to KL

I shall be going to KL with my colleague tomorrow and then fly to Johor Bahru from KLIA LCCT via Air Asia for the day's meeting. Just rented a Hertz car for about $150 per day, to drive to the site for the meeting. I have booked the plane tickets last night and paid using my credit card. Compared to Firefly, Air Asia is about $1,000 cheaper than the turbo propeller plane that is much smaller by comparison for the same destination. The flight is scheduled at 8.25am on Friday and we have to wake up much earlier by at least 3-4 hours in advance so as not to miss the flight and to beat the rush hour work traffic jam in KL.

Got Paid $25 today

This morning, as I woke up, my client had paid me USD 25 into my Paypal account. This is for blogging work done 2 days ago. I still maintain and update my several blogs for revenue now and then. The income is just a bonus as writing online has been my passion since August of 2006. I love my work, and virtual assistance offered now and then as potential clients email me for the quotation. Now I get paid USD50 monthly for commenting on a high traffic blog in the U.S. and get to read well written articles by journalists and people of stature, those who are already successful in their own rights. This brings more authority and credibility to the many blog posts and articles.

Maintaining Blogs is Hard Work

I just came back from KL last night, dropped by my parents' house to collect some letters and went back home to my apartment for a good rest. And this morning, here I am blogging again to refresh my blogs with new content. My working life is colorful - lots of traveling and seeing places with the benefit of working at home, either in KL or Penang. Mind you, maintaining blogs is certainly hard work and not cut out for everyone. I have seen active blogs die out naturally because there are no more sponsored posts to take up and maintaining them is just too expensive and not worth the time and effort.

Blog Promotion Through Social Media

blogskinny.com

Social media is getting more relevant by the day. Almost every company and blogger uses social media to create buzz for their businesses or blogs for clients and visitors respectively. Approximately 87% of all professional bloggers use Facebook as a social media tool.

Jesus Fills the Void

Yes, work cannot fill the void – which can only be replaced by Jesus. But all of us need to work to support ourselves. Many people are unable to work or maintain their jobs, having to job hop from one place to another. This does not auger well for the future. Many women have to depend on their husbands for financial support and cannot work themselves, with no qualifications. Unless, of course their take up job as a McDonald’s service crew at $5 per hour. But how many are will to slave so much for such little income, unless you are a student and not a tai tai, traveling overseas all the time and spending other people’s money?

Now in Kuala Lumpur

Someone claimed that I have the 'best job' in the region. I beg to differ. The best job is when you call the shots all the time and are your own boss. I am just a business partner who still have to take instructions and carry out those tasks. The only consolation is that I work in a home office either in Penang or Kuala Lumpur. Right now I am in KL and will return to Penang tomorrow.

Yesterday, visited 3 places using the GPS to guide us; otherwise we will not be able to visit 3 different places that are far away from each other. Samsung S4 also comes with a voice navigated GPS which we just discovered by accident. Technology certainly makes our lives so much easier.

Working at Home Means the World to Me

Working at home certainly means the world to me. As I cannot work outside in a normal environment, much less in a team, God has found an ideal dream job for me to in a home office. In between work, I get to take power naps, read the papers and magazines like Reader's Digest and Personal Money. Sometimes I buy the Edge magazine for $5 per week for financial news. As of today, my Maybank dividends were disbursed at 22.50 cents a share. Since I bought 200 shares, I get $45 with a net of about $40 after minus the charges. I am very pleased with the status quo to work at home and to earn a little from my shares and fixed deposits.

The Facts of Life : Are You Covered?

quinndirectinsurance.net

Having an insurance policy to cover your life is important. In case of accidents or discovery of dreaded diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, Alzheimer's disease and such, the insurance company will pay your hospital bill, medical consultation and medication. This will surely prevent your finances from depleting too much all of a sudden.

A lot of money is pooled from the crowd and the collected money is then channeled to pay for such expenses should any of the policy holders be inflicted with critical illness or a motor accident. An estimated 22% of vehicle operators in Alabama do not have auto insurance. Not only that, an estimated 28% of driver in Mississippi do not have auto insurance. From statistics, 7 out of 10 people that lack health insurance live in California, New York, Texas or Florida.

To share my personal life, I have been awarded a lump sum payment from my insurance company for a medical condition that renders me jobless for my entire life. I received in the sum of more than $80,000.00 and it was a blessing in disguise that I decided to purchase the insurance premium that was automatically deducted from my Central Provident Fund (CPF) account in Singapore.

As of today, I have 2 insurance policies to cover me; one up to age 65 and another up to a lifetime as long as I pay the $100 that is auto debited from my bank account. My dad used to sell insurance policies on a part time basis and he got the Million Dollar Round Table Award for selling premiums worth more than 1 million in his career. Having come from such background, I know it is pertinent to get at least one insurance policy for your health or motor accident, just in case.

I Love My Job

For most people a JOB is 'Just Over Broke'. But for me, well, I can say that I enjoy my dream job very much because I get to work from a home office. It is true. They pay you just enough that you won't leave and Not more! If they can get away with paying the least and have you do the most work, they will certainly do it. This is how companies cut costs - by having you perform the most work at the minimum pay to keep you there. Well, if you are enterprising, then it might be time to start considering working for yourself in a home office just like me.

Blogging in 2011

Citation

In February of 2011, 156 million public blogs were in existence on the internet. This is a whopping figure, taking into consideration the number of people who actually owns a computer, laptop and subscribe to internet connectivity. For myself, I remember I started blogging in August 2006 until today and my blogs have stayed active for all these years. Visitors come and go and some come back for more information and entertainment.

You can read more about it in Wiki Blog or educational Wikis of 2011. I plan to continue blogging for as long as possible as I simply love it. Having the power of the world's attention at my fingertips feels good. This is a win-win basis for me as I also get to monetize my blogs as I update my online journal.

To Get Money Out of CPF

I have long written to Singapore's CPF to request for my funds to be released earlier, due to my condition. I have to depend on myself and the help of a friend to see lawyers and get the letters certified by a notary public before sending them to Singapore. As of today, I only have exactly 13 days to get this done. Deadline on 1st October. Luckily I have the help of a close friend to run errands for matters such as this. Now I know who I can count on for help. This person is a God-sent.

The History of Blogging

A 'Blog' is short for 'Web Log' and is an informal, discussion page posted on the internet. The emergence and growth of blogs started in the late 1990s and from there it has grown exponentially ever since. Hundreds of blogs are created every second worldwide.

In December of 1997, the term weblog was coined by John Barger. Now there are many free platforms to create your first blog: Blogger, Wordpress, etc. You can read more about the History of Blogging by Wikipedia by clicking on the link given or check out here >> Webopedia History of Blogging

I am pleased that there are free platforms for you to start your first blog and possibly monetize it. You need to know some HTML basics which can be found online and information is everywhere for your search. Thank God for my blessings to continue to work efficiently from a home office that is equipped with broadband internet connectivity, multi-functional printer, fax machine, scanner, copier and a digital camera.

I have to Work Hard

I have to work hard for my money. Just cannot afford to laze around doing nothing as it is not my nature to be idle. I am always on the lookout for more work online since I work in a home office as of February 2004. Oh yes, I just received a call from Astro for special channel viewing of WWE Night of Champions live on Monday at 8:00am, repeats 3:30pm, 8:00pm on Monday and 7:00pm on Tuesday. It will cost additional $19.95 for this special seasonal viewing. I am a true blue Chinese and all Chinese are very hardworking, motivated and diligent. If you live in Hong Kong, it is common to find people working at 2 jobs: one in the day time and another one at night.

The History of RSS Feeds

Graphic Citation

RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication. It uses a family of standard web feed formats to publish frequently updated information: blog entries, news headlines, audio, video. An RSS document, called "feed", includes full or summarized text, and metadata, like publishing date and authors name. You can read more about it in RSS Feed Definition on Wikipedia and What is RSS?

The first RSS feed was published in March of 1999, and was used on Netscape. In 2002, a new RSS feed application was published removing the type attribute of RSS 0.94. This new software was called RSS 2.0 and after Google Reader shuts down, RSS feeds became extremely popular.

I have used RSS feed before to automatically update my blog with news without me having to update it on a daily basis. It is very simple: just add the feed to the HTML page and voila! I have updated new every day and the page appears fresh and new with the latest news without me having to lift a finger!

Still a bit Drowsy

Have I been sleeping too much? I don't think so. But nevertheless, I am feeling rather drowsy now and writing is a bit slower. My brain is still on sleeping mode and my body just hopes to go back and sleep. But the book of Proverbs says that is you sleep too much, you will surely come to poverty, refusing to lift a finger to work. And literally here, I have to lift a finger to type, no one but 10 fingers. Oh well, after this, I will reward myself and go back to snooze for a while so that my mind will be more alert. Now I am in half awake state. Not a good thing to be in but sleep again, I must

Blogs were First Used as an Online Diary

blogskinny.com

When I first started out, my blogs were meant to be a personal online journal or diary to share with close friends and family. From there, they evolved to money making ventures where I can take sponsored posts and earn some revenue. After a while of getting started, you will get regular traffic and this is where you can start to monetize them. This is a win-win situation for me. On top of that, I can also earn advertisement space on all my blogs and this gives me the motivation to continue blogging as a hobby.

You can check out Wiki blogs or watch a video on blogging at Youtube Video on Blogs. These links are interesting and informative. I still recall the year 2006 August which I started my first blog on free Blogger platform and never looked back since then. If you can type well, think on the spot, then anyone can be a blogger. It does not take rocket science to figure out how to be a blogger and what to write.

To get started, you can use your first blogs as an online diary and pen down your thoughts which is easy peasy. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can do this, so can you. With that said, why won't you start your blogs and see how they evolve? Who knows? You might be invited for important functions and blog about events for sponsors to create buzz. This will surely make your blogs stand out from the rest and attract lots of visitors.

My Housing Loan is Just Approved

My second housing loan is just approved after about 2 weeks of application by RHB Bank. I love this bank as it offers lots of free goodies and Chinese new year gifts. I got myself a mug and a notebook when my loan got approved. I plan to pay only 40% of the condo price as I have my fixed deposits to pay the rest. Don't intend to take up too much loan so that I pay less interests rates. The offered rate is BLR - 2.35% as compared to Hong Leong bank which only offered me BLR - 2.25%. So, now I can celebrate and as of signing the Sale & Purchase Agreement, my property went up another 10% due to petrol hike increase.

Blogging Careers

Do you know that you can make blogging as a career? Well, there are three types of bloggers - self-employed bloggers, part time bloggers and corporate bloggers. I guess I fall into the second category as a part time blogger since I have a full time job to work in a home office as an Information Technology executive. For the record, I love to blog and blogging is one of my hobbies currently, besides getting to monetize it.

There are professional bloggers out there who are self-employed. These are serious bloggers who will attend any formal functions, take lots of photos to create buzz and then go home to blog about it to create awareness of the products or the services of the companies. You will see lots and lots of photos that these self-employed bloggers will painstakingly edit on their computer using Photoshop as an example, and then post into their blog. Blogging is their full time job which keeps them very busy besides traveling around for more content on their blog.

Then there's part time bloggers like yours truly who will blog when there is free time. In the meantime, full concentration is given to my full time job at home. Most of these part time bloggers are also talented and get to leverage on their blogs for a win-win basis between bloggers and sponsors. Even if we don't have any sponsored posts to do, we will still continue to blog and maintain one or several blogs just for the fun of it. We love telling the world about our life, thus keeping an online journal for all to see.

The third category is the corporate bloggers which work for companies or businesses and draw a salary from them. They are the internal staff and their job function is to blog about the corporate products, services and any events. Some staff are hired specially to just blog and create more buzz and awareness of the corporations. With the 3 categories of bloggers, now you can see why blogging careers are possible if you have a computer, basic editing software, digital camera and a blogging platform.

Art is Appealing

Art is certainly appealing. It makes our life more colorful and interesting. Without art, our daily grind of life will be boring with all the busy office work, taking care of kids and attending to your spouse will certainly wear one out. By immersing ourselves in art, we get to appreciate man-made beauty. That is why we have the classics, photography, museum, opera, orchestra, etc.

Art is very much a part of my life when I was small. I used to go for weekly Art tuition, having to eat dinner in the car while my parents rush me to the tutor's house in a rather old small town house near 'Tan kongsi'. In my working life, I get to enjoy Philharmonic Orchestra in Petronas tower in Kuala Lumpur now and then. These are professional musicians playing individual music instrument such as the violin, piano, bass, trombone, flute, drums, etc following the conductor to create harmonious music. You don't see this in Penang other than at E & O hotel when it is advertised in The Star at the end of the year.

I also get to watch ballroom dancing in PISA and marvel at the extravagance of ballroom dance costumes of the women. There's plenty of sequins, feathers, satin, silk, organza of a wide magnitude of vibrant colors. Whenever, there is a chance, I will take the opportunity to purchase ballroom dancing tickets.

MOMA - Museum of Modern Art

coolartwork.org

MOMA is an acronym for Museum of Modern Art. I would love to visit this place someday if given the chance. From an initial gift of 8 prints and 1 drawing, the collection has grown to include over 150,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, architectural models and drawings, and design objects. The success of its impressive growth speaks volumes of MOMA. Visitors come and patronize the premise to enjoy art that is collected over time. Art enthusiasts will certainly enjoy their visit to MOMA and slowly absorb the beauty of each art piece.

The Museum of Modern Art is located in Midtown Manhattan on 53rd Street in New York City. Well, I have never been to New York, but my second sister who is pursuing her PhD in South Hampton, UK has been here once to see the various art works during her stint in Singapore. She is the most well-traveled amongst us and gained rich experience.

Well, art is not just a still object, but as an art enthusiast, you will be able to appreciate the beauty and labor of the artist in creating any object of art for the public to admire. For the record, I have won poster drawing prizes before during my school holidays and I recall the time and work taken to create a masterpiece that is appreciate by my classmates! It was pinned up in an obvious place for all students to admire as they pass through the school area every day.

One also need to appreciate the time and effort taken to take a beautiful photo shot by the patient photographer. This is especially so when you are shooting nature and animals in the wild. You must know how to set up the zoom lens, focal point, white light intensity, etc on your manual SLR camera.

Working in a Home Office

Today is Sunday and I skipped church since I could not wake up for the early service at 9:00am. After completing some paid commenting on a US high traffic blog, I decided to call up my friend for lunch at a Thai restaurant where we patronize for the first time. The food was not too bad except that it was a bit hot since the air con was not switched on when we entered the premises.

In the meantime, you can check out high view apartments, simply by clicking on the link and reading up more information. Who knows? You might find something that suits your budget. I am in the writing mood now and working in a home office has enabled me to work even on a Sunday, without having to commute by car to office. It is a win-win basis for me to work in a home office since February 2004 until today for my boss who happens to be my cousin. So, employability is assured unless, of course I choose to retire. I am staying in an apartment at the moment but it is on the lower floor which is more affordable. When I chose the unit, I had considered situation of electricity tripping and I don't intend to climb stories high at the top most floor just to reach my unit. It would be very inconvenient for old people having to walk up and climb the stair case for high level units. But then the view is apparently better.

I am born in the year of the dog and love puppies. You can check out Puppies for Sale from the link given here. When I was small, I used to play with my aunt's pet dogs in her large garden with fruit trees for the pet to run around. It is a lot of work to maintain pets and you have to be a responsible owner in order to keep pets at home. Otherwise they can become abandoned and become strays along the streets.

At the moment, I am also saving up for my retirement in a few years' time down the road. Hence, I have to be prudent about my spendings especially at the shopping mall where I frequent almost every other day. There will always be work online and it is up to your determination to work hard or now. It is easier to just sleep and forget about everything else.

But I just don't have the luxury to lie down the whole day doing nothing. Those who refuse to work will come to poverty. It is not a pretty sight to be in. In the meantime, do check out dentist tauranga nz and Holiday Homes Auckland

To Err is Human, To Forgive Divine

We all make mistakes. To err is human, to forgive divine. If you are in a relationship, you need to keep forgiving many times. Otherwise the marriage or relationship will not last. We are different people with own personalities and characters coming together as one and the teeth may occasionally grind into the tongue. It is human nature after all. For marriages lasting a lifetime, is possible, but both parties need to understand and forgive one another. Misunderstandings and quarrels are commonplace. People are by nature selfish and self seeking.

No Church Service This Week

There is no church service this coming week as all the pastors will be having a retreat at Cinta Sayang Golf and Country Resort. So, they will have a service there instead of the church compound. And if you love the service so much, then you can take a drive down to the off beaten track in Sungai Petani where Cinta Sayang is. As for me, well, I will just take a break for the weekend and go for someone's birthday treat at Trader's Hotel for a buffet lunch. In the meantime, I have 5 articles to write and it is time to head back for some serious work before the end of the month.

Ruth and Boaz

The lives of Ruth and Boaz in the Old Testament provides some evidence of God's providence and hand in our lives. Ruth decided to follow Naomi, her mother-in-law when both her sons and husband died, leaving her powerless and defenseless. Naomi, instructed Ruth to glean from the fields owned by Boaz, her distance relative and kinsman. Of all the servant girls in the field, Boaz noticed Ruth and instructed the men not to touch her. He also offered her food and treated her like one of his people. The rest, is history, as Ruth together with Boaz came in the lineage of Jesus Christ, despite being a Moabitess or outsider. The moral of the story is, never give up on God regardless of your problems, financial difficulties, etc.

Going Back to Penang

I am now in KL for the past 2 days already. Will be going back to Penang later this evening and arriving near midnight. I am still thinking whether to attend church or not. It is more about money matters now and when you tithe $1k weekly, the message is on grace. But if you miss tithing $1k a week, the message is on law and human efforts without any due respect for the congregation. Money speaks the loudest in this materialistic society. When you have been giving for so many years, it is expected that you continue to give and give. Otherwise, you see different treatment from the leaders. There is a church in Singapore that preaches so much on tithing that it makes S$19 million in a day. The way the pastor preaches, people give out of fear and compulsion and it is not surprising that this is one of the richest church in the world.

Earned S$42 This Morning

Just got paid in S$42 for 6 articles about Singapore that I completed this morning. Each article is 500 to 550 words. Yes, it is possible to earn some money now and then via the internet when you are determined and constantly look around for work. This is a repeat client and we have good working relations. It is a blessing to be able to milk the internet which has been my cash cow since I joined. I also found my cousin. We have been working together for 10 years already and work very well as a team to prosper many people under our employment and also our relatives. Most of your financial problems can be solved with the internet provided you invest in some skills and reading up to leverage on this amazing media.

I am Blessed

I am blessed to have a job to work at home since 2003 in February till today. I am blessed to have a company car, a small olive green automatic Myvi 1.3. I am blessed to have high end credit cards, career, car, condo and spare cash. The only thing I don't have is children to take care of me in my golden years. But with my busy schedule, to adopt one might not be viable or feasible. I just don't have the time to take care of her with my frequent traveling to KL. So, in the meantime, I just enjoy my work and save up for my retirement in years to come. So, my life is blessed in a special way.

Women Need High Expenses

If you are a woman and want to maintain a certain status, you need to invest in make up, nice clothes and such. Even eyebrow shaping costs money, at least RM 10 per session at the cheapest. If you want to colour your finger and toe nails, you need to buy nail varnish with bottom coat and top coat together. A total of 3 layers just to have your nails coloured. Then you need to buy cosmetics for skin care like anti-aging serum, body lift lotion and more. You also need to dye your hair dark brown or black if you have hit a certain age with many strands of white hair showing, thus making you look older. If you wish to be plain Jane, then you can choose to ignore all these steps and save money in the long run. But having disposable cash, you just want to pamper yourself and look good

Missed Church

I have missed church service twice running since I am down with flu and do not wish to disturb the congregation with my constant coughs. I have seen the same doctor twice and even bought cough mixture on my own from the pharmacy including tablets to dissolve the phlegm. My boss is quite nice and does not overload me with too much work. But I still travel frequently between Penang and KL for business. This type of work is hard to come by which is to work in a home office, but thank goodness I am working for my cousin, so my employment security is more or less assured until my cousin retires altogether. By that time, I would have saved enough for my retirement account.

Blessed to Work at Home

I am blessed to work at home since being a partner in a company in early 2004. The best part is that I don't have to drive down to office, getting stuck in snarling traffic jams or spend unnecessary money on office clothes or make-up. In this way, I can also wake up later than usual and have a quick breakfast of a cup of Milo before booting up my computer and start surfing around to check emails. My average income is like a director's salary, but doing the administrative work and updating web sites. As a partner, I also need to travel frequently between Penang and KL for business. Free meals are one of the perks working here with time for window shopping in an upmarket lifestyle mall. Regardless of what I do at home, I always get the job done in a timely manner and that is why the company can prosper with my employment.

Stayed at Mandarin Oriental Hotel

I just came back from a 1 night stay at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in KLCC. As we are members of the Elite Club, we get 50% discount off the room rate with free upgrade to a park view room. We also used the voucher for a free buffet lunch at Mosaic Restaurant in Mandarin Oriental. We also took the opportunity to watch Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra entitled 18th Century Evocations featuring music by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, etc. The dress code was smart casual and they have relaxed it a bit from long sleeve formal batik. No shorts, slippers, sports shoes are allowed. It was an enjoyable experience on the whole. It makes working hard more meaningful when we are able to spend a little now and then while taking a break from work.

Working from Home means the World to me

The present company that I work for since the last 9 years is not big nor prestigious, but it pays reasonably well and the fact that I work from a home office, means the world to me. We have been blessed with constant projects month after month since it was founded in 2004 when I started working here. It is a relief to note that we saved thousands of dollars from hiring many salesmen to go round places and look for projects.

Instead, what we have is a nifty, functional web site that brings in the dough with some enquiries online every month. People look for us instead of us looking for them. What is important is that our company web site is indexed by search engines where potential clients can find us easily online by typing a few key words. I thank God for the knowledge in implementing this, all gleaned from the internet and from joining forums to learn about web site designing.

Phone Dating with Flurv and Badoo

I have been testing out these two apps downloaded to my iPhone 5 for the functionality and I must say that Badoo is heads over heels over Flurv which is more catered to local users. With Badoo, I have people from UK, US, Norway, Europe chatting up with me in an instant! Many plan to meet up with me, but I don't schedule for any appointment. My time is too precious and the main reason I use Badoo is to promote my online business which I just paid for USD 29.95 for a lifetime membership without monthly fees, transaction fees or any other fees for that matter. It is very affordable and I love it. Having said that, now it time to try out Badoo and make new online friends.

Comforting to Read the Scriptures

I have downloaded Bible Verses into my iPhone 5 and I can read the scriptures daily at the touch of the screen. It makes me stay focused on life's purpose and grounded to my beliefs. Sometimes, we are too busy chasing monetary benefits that we forgot the spiritual side of matters. I buy a number of financial magazines and in the past, they have helped me to earn more income for my retirement in years to come. I also save up more money in the process and I hope to have enough to last me a lifetime during my golden years. As I have no kids, I cannot depend on them for financial support in my golden years. Hence, I have to use the present moment to work hard and earn more so that I can retire comfortably, knowing that my finances can stretch a long time to come without my having to depend on anyone.

Going Back for CNY

Early tomorrow morning, I shall take Firefly propeller plane back to Penang from Subang low cost terminal airport. The cost was RM 391.00 one way with surcharge and airport tax. The following day, will take Air Asia to fly down to Singapore for Chinese New Year and hopefully to collect big, big ang pow. I have to bring along 2 red blouses - one for reunion dinner and one for CNY day itself. I might just visit The Sands Resort and other attractions in Singapore. Well, it has been 13 long years since my last trip back to Penang to recuperate after 12 years of studying and working there. Time for a more laid back lifestyle and this job to work at home fits me perfectly well. No other person can fill my shoes.

Love my JOB

For most people, a JOB is Just Over Broke. But for me, I just love it! Though it can get a bit boring at times, sitting by the computer all alone, but nevertheless, I love it – simply for the fact that I can work in my own pace and time. No office politics or nosy supervisor to look over your shoulders. In fact, most of the time, I will be listening to music in the background or napping in between. It would be a luxury to most for this type of job which I cannot trade for anything else. God has found a calling for me in this vocation where only I can handle and one that suits my capabilities well enough.

A New Year Begins

2012 ended on a high note and 2013 dawned with colourful display of fireworks. I have made some good income, in the region of 6 figures last year and it has been profitable for the business. Moreover, I also earn from my bonds and fixed deposits from the various banks. I got back most of the money I put into insurance when I surrendered the policy in November as I have too many policies which are pointless!

Just pray for God's continual blessings this year, as He has blessed me with last year and the preceding years. More importantly, it is His protection that I need 24/7 for the rest of my life, so that I can continue to work and earn an income with my computer. Don't plan to retire so soon yet, as I have many more fruitful years to contribute to the business and the nation, indirectly.
